I got very frustrated with the terribly out of date servers on my hosting provider and Gallery2 kept crashing out all the time so I imported all my digital photos (something like 10,000 of them and thousands left to scan) into F-Spot to see if it could do a good job exporting. I did not like their HTML output one bit so I wrote my own. This is a plugin for F-Spot that puts out very simple HTML but with CSS and
Lightbox2 support. This makes for a dynamic website with no server side processing, thus avoiding my terrible hosting provider. Yeah, some might say "switch hosts!" but they are cheap, it is a hassle to switch providers, and, most of all, this project was fun.
To use, either build using MonoDevelop or extract the binary then place the DLL in ~/.gnome2/f-spot/addins and start F-Spot. Select a bunch of photos then Photo->Export->Export to Lightbox HTML.
